Rosette Cake

Here are two versions of one of my own designs. The first is an 8", 4 layer vanilla sponge with jam and buttercream filling. The decorations are what I term as rosette roses - they are handmade but I use a special cutter to speed up the process. The recipients both love the colour purple which works particularly well with a white base. The silver 70 on the larger cake sets off the cake beautifully. Of course, there's a bit of silver glitter too, for a bit of sparkle!!! The second cake is a 4 layer 6" sponge, again with vanilla sponge with jam and buttercream.
